News: Facebook adds link preview in comments

From today onwards, if you post a link in a comment on a post in Facebook, the preview of the link will be visible in the comment. The preview is also available for You Tube videos and Facebook albums. Here, take a look:

But, will this link preview make the page bulkier? Or is this eye candy worth eating resources? Google+, do you notice these changes in Facebook “)?

As usual, Facebook does the right thing the wrong way. IMHO this feature should be optional (perhaps it is, I haven’t been to FB yet today) and it should be an item that is triggered by a mouse hover rather than just slapped out there.
