As Microsoft has made Start as a separate screen which shows the tiles in Metro UI like what we see in Windows Phone 8 OS which is optimized for mobiles. To relief you guys I have arranged for a short list of Windows 8 Shortcuts keys and some hidden features which you might not know.
Shortcuts
Below is the list of some important shortcuts in Windows 8 which you will need one day or other:
- Windows Key + C: This will open charms Menu
- Windows Key + F: This combination opens Search in Charms Menu
- Windows Key+ K: This combination opens Devices in Charms Menu
- Windows Key + I: This combination will open Settings in Charms Menu
- Windows Key + H: This combination will open Share in Charms Menu
- Windows Key + X: This combination opens the various options like Control Panel, Programs and Features, Device Manager and more.
- Windows Key + L: This combination will Lock your System and takes you at Lock screen
- Windows Key + Q: This combination allows you to search among the installed applications
- Windows Key + {Full Stop}: This combination will split your screen into two and allows you to open more than one application at a time. With this combination your screen will split towards right
- Windows Key + Shift + {Full Stop}: This will split the screen into two but towards the Left side
- Windows Key + E: This combination will take you directly into My Computer
- Ctrl + Shift + Esc: This combination opens the Task Manager
- Alt + F4: This combination will close all the applications
- Windows Key + D: This combination will take you to the Desktop
These are some shortcuts which you will need in daily use. Though there are many more shortcuts but these are the ones which will be used most frequently by an average person.
