Find IP Address of your Printer on Windows [How to]: Quick guide

These How to guide is more useful to journalist, or those people who have a lot of computers and printers connected because it becomes really difficult to know which printer you will be using or more.

If one knows the IP address of printer then problem can be solved with ease. For the follow the simple guide below:

You need to go to Devices and Printers option which you can do by Clicking on Control Panel. Then you will see the icons of connected devices including mobiles, Monitor, headphones, CPU, Mouse and printers.
Now Right click on the Printer whose IP address you want to know. Then click on printer properties option.
In general tab look for location where you will find IP address of your printer.

And it’s done.

In case no location shows up in Printer’s properties then make sure to reconnect your cables and check that USB ports are working well.

Now you no need to worry about the connected printers as you can control all the operation with just one click.

How to download your tweets archive from Twitter?

Log-in into your Twitter account then click on settings options as shown below.

Scroll down below then you will see the option for “Request for archive” click on that.

Then you will see a dialog box which says that “Download link will be mailed to your email address when archive it ready“

Well I got my download link mail instantly just click on that and you will see the following screen.

Just click on “Download” and you have the archive.

So when did you got your mail and What did you do with that archive? I would like to know as I deleted it just after downloading because its of no use for me [a personal opinion]

How to prevent Google Plus users to mail you?

Initially you will be only seeing his/her Google Plus name in mail recipients place but once a single conversation takes place between two then both will be able to see each other’s address.

This feature may be great if you happen to know each and every person in your circle, it will make you more socialised but if you happen to have unknown people in circle or those with whom you don’t want to share your mail address then this feature becomes curse.

How to disable mailing feature to Google Plus users?

Simply head over to your Gmail account then after logging in, go over to geared icon and click on Settings option. In General Tab of settings, at middle you will find option “Email via Google+” there from dropdown option change “anyone on Google Plus” to “No one” or as appropriate to you then head down below and click on save button to apply those necessary changes.

Now you won’t be receiving any spam messages from those Google Plus users whom you don’t even know. It’s Christmas time, a time for giving and receiving Christmas gifts. Since we are tech site, we always think of a tech gift. This time it is an accessory for Galaxy Tab 10.1 and we thought that it will be great because tablets are also gaining market and it’s a high time to push them a little bit more.

Well, it is a rechargeable Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard Leather case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Guys at Deal Extreme send us this case for review and I will leave the direct link for this case at the end of this review. You can use this case on both Tab 1 and Tab 2.

Main Features:

Some of the outstanding features include Bluetooth 3.0 built-in with 10 meters working range, PU leather material, built in rechargeable 450mAh battery, 3-4 hours of charging time and standby time of 32 hours, support USB charging and energy saving sleep mode.

MATERIAL:

Case is made up of PU leather material which seems premium to see. Magnetic locks works efficiently and even the cut-outs for front facing camera, speaker, charging port, and 3.5mm and volume rocker too are great. Only place where I am little worried is the support for tablet as it is pretty easy for the tab to slip out from the above.

KEYBOARD:

Keyboards buttons are really soft to touch. Company has tried to include all the buttons on the keyboard so that you no need to use your tablet for example we have home, Menu, Back, Volume rocker, and Power buttons on the keyboard only.

TYPING:

I am not really impressed with typing on this case as when I tried to write an article I ended up making so many errors. Reason for that was that those highly soft and spongy keys. If you are thinking to write a lot with this case then you will not be so happy.

CONNECTIVITY:

As far as connectivity is concerned you get Bluetooth 3.0 for wireless connectivity and it does hold up well from a distance too. You are provided with USB cables too in case you want charge it or connect it wirelessly.

BATTERY:

This case is powered by 450mAh battery. As said this tablet has standby time of 32 hours and we think it is better than that as it’s been more than week we have been using it and we didn’t charge it once. According to company it takes 3-4 hours to charge it fully and they are pretty accurate too as it took us 3.20 hours to check that.

Verdict:

Coming to the final verdict, I think it is one of the beautifully made Bluetooth case with in case battery backup but it doesn’t holds up its main purpose well for which it is made i.e. typing, as it is really hard to type a whole essay on it. But it all depends on how much you type so take that point into mind.

How To Disable Windows 8 Lock Screen [Quick Tip]

If you are running Windows 8, you must have seen the lock screen every now and then. If you feel irritated with this lock screen and you don’t need it on your system, let me show you how to quickly disable Windows 8 lock screen.

Requirements

All we need is a computer with Windows 8 or higher installed in it. If you want to upgrade to Windows 8.1 follow this guide.

How to Disable Lock Screen from Windows 8?

STEP #1

For this we need to make some changes in registry. For that go to “Run” which you can get by using “Windows + R” combination. Then in Run type “Regedit” and click on “OK”. Registry Editor will open.

STEP #2

Now go to Folder named “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” in that head over to “SOFTWARE” then go to “POLICIES” from that go to “MICRSOFT” after that “WINDOWS” and lastly to “PERSONALISATION”

STEP #3

Click on personalisation then on right side you will see following screen. Now in the space below you need to create a new DWord rename it as NoLockscreen so that it is easy to remember. Then click on that Lock screen twice and enter its value as 1 then click on OK.

In future if you ever want to reactivate that lock screen change the value to 0 and it’s done.

Mmm.. Don’t you think this process is little bit lengthy? then don’t worry you can do that in two clicks too. Just download this file, unzip it and install it. Set Time Location Based Reminders With Yet Another Reminder [Review]

Well, have you ever forgot to pick vegetables while coming home? Have you ever forgotten to get cash from ATM while going to a really important work? Or are you too busy, that you forget what things you need to buy? If your answer to any one of the above question is in positive then this Yet Another Reminder (Y.A.R.) is for you.

What’s so special?

Y.A.R is basically a reminder application. But then what’s different in this another reminder app from other tonnes of similar applications in the market. Minimalist look of the app is the first reason. Also, it is light on RAM of your device and hence consumes less power. Lastly, you have the ability to set location based reminders which is kind of awesome. Imagine yourself passing by the supermarket and your phone buzzes up to remind you of buying salt.

How do reminders work in Y.A.R.?

Y.A.R. is developed by an Indian Android App developer named Rakshak Raghavan. If you want to see his other apps then you can follow this it will take you to Play Store straight, where you will find Yet Another Notepad which we reviewed recently. Coming to the topic in Indian Slang we also call friends as “Yaar”. This app also acts as a companion for you.

When you will first open the app you will see a blank off white screen where at its bottom there are two buttons which say “New Timed Reminder” and “New Location Reminder” and it is pretty obvious that if you want to set a simple timed alarm then click on first but if you want to set a real location based alarm then click on second one.

Setting up Timed Reminder

After clicking on first option you will see the window like at left side. Write the topic for which you want to set the reminder, select the time and click on next. Now you will see two options one is “Set Reminder” if you click on that Reminder will be activated simple as that. While if you click on other option which is “Persistence for reminders” it will turn off reminder every day at that time.

Setting up location based Reminder

Now if you have clicked on second option then you are going to set up a location based reminder such as:

Wake you up when you reach your bus stop or train station in case you fall asleep on you way back home from work (or if you are too engrossed in your book)
Reminder to collect cash from the ATM when you walk or drive past it.
Reminder to take your umbrella or coat when you leave the restaurant.
Reminder to take important documents when you leave for a meeting.

Here also you will see a similar type of screen. Write the motive of your reminder then choose the location where you want it to set it. Click on next then there you will see the same option “Set Reminder” and “Persistence for reminders” and you know well what to do with them.

How To Root HTC One With Locked Boot Loader

HTC one is the smart phone of the year 2013 and company did excellently well in making the device a success and there is no doubt in that. Phone has everything which you deserve from any flagship device. It has aluminium body that gives you a premium feel in hand which Samsung’s Galaxy S series failed to give. It has one of the fastest processor of the year. Another feature which makes this device stand out is 4 Ultra Pixel camera which gives insane performance in low light conditions. There are front stereo speakers named boom speakers which give out incredible quality of sound. In the end new Sense 5 UI is just awesome.

Unlock Boot loader of your device

You need to unlock the boot loader of your device in order to root it. For that head over to HTC Dev site . It is a compulsory step.

TWRP Recovery

download

Transfer recovery

Transfer TWRP to the folder where you kept ADB and fastboot then, rename TWRP extension to .img

Go to Command Prompt

Go to Command Prompt of your system by typing cmd in start Menu and go to folder where you kept the above files.

Use button combination

Boot in fastboot with the help of power and volume down combination. Navigate to Fastboot option using Volume buttons and select with the help of power button. After all this connect your device to PC.

Flash TWRP

If you want to know which launcher is best to install after root then use this guide

In command prompt write fastboot flash recovery.img and this command will flash TWRP then restart your phone.

Flash SuperUser

Now flash SuperUser on your device with the help of recovery mode. You can download SuperUser from here. )

Last Step

With the help of Volume down + Power button combinations enter in to Boot loader. Go to recovery option and select it. Tap on install button and select SuperUser file. How to remove your account from Ads?

You need to login in to your Google Plus account. After doing so go this link where you will see a page with heading “Shared Endorsements”.

Now at the bottom of the page you will see a checked box which states that “Based upon my activity, Google may show my name and profile photo in shared endorsements that appear in ads.” Just uncheck that box and click on save.
