Guide to Unlock Bootloader of HTC EVO 4G LTE

Many users often unlock the Bootloaders of their Smartphones to install custom ROMs or to root their device. It’s been about two years ago when HTC’s CEO Pete Chou confirmed that the company will not lock the bootloaders of their devices any more. But since then, it’s only HTC One Developer Edition which has an unlocked bootloader.

So we still have to unlock the bootloaders of other HTC devices. In this guide we are talking about the HTC EVO 4G LTE. I’ll explain the instructions briefly that how we can unlock the bootloader of not only HTC EVO 4 G LTE, but other HTC Smartphones too. We’ll be using the method provided by the company.

  • This guide is suitable for only HTC EVO 4G LTE and for some other HTC devices too. Don’t try this guide for devices of other manufacturers.
  • We are not responsible for any damage to your device. Do it at your own risk.

Precautions:

  • Keep the Back Up of all your data as unlocking the bootloader will reset your device to factory settings.

Holo LauncherDo you own any older Android device running on Froyo or Gingerbread? So it’s better to have at least Ice Cream Sandwich in this era of Jelly Bean. I’m not saying that you can change the operating system to Ice Cream Sandwich, but you can change the looks of your operating system. This launcher neither needs a rooted device to run nor consume much battery. It also uses very low memory of your device. The average rating of Holo Launcher at Google Play Store is 4.6 with 17,878 “5 star” ratings out of 23,793 which itself is a proof of its popularity.

It works smoothly on devices with operating system of Android 2.2 or above. You can download it from .

Battery Saver 2X: Life Saver for Android Devices

Do you own an Android based smartphone? If yes, then you might have faced low battery issues too. Low battery life is an issue with any smartphone be it Android, iPhone or Windows. You can get better battery life in smartphone by following some best practices. Apart from those best practices, there are some apps available that could help you save battery on your Android device. One such application is developed by and I think it is the Viagra for a low battery life.

unnamed

Features:

This application has tonnes of feature which makes it best in it’s category. This application saves battery life, even optimize applications, set notification alarms, Battery charge notifications, gives you the ability to customise settings and also helps to easy uninstall useless ones.

  • Battery:When you first open the application you will see a Battery tab here you will see the amount of juice left in the device in terms of cool pool also below it tell us remaining time for which Droid remains active for various activities such as Talktime, Game, Standby ,Audio Playback, Movie Playback, Web Surfing and Reading even you can increase/ decrease the things to appear by clicking on settings icon.

Screenshot_2013-06-14-07-25-30

  • Alert:Now we go to Alert tab here you can set notification Alarm sound on/off. Even application gives you battery charge notification for certain levels such as 100, 70 and 50%. You even have the ability to set notification for low battery so that you can stop other processes to save the life. This feature is pretty cool as user gets to know when it’s device is drinking the juice.

unnamed (3)

  • Optimize: This Battery Saver provides you with built-in Optimizer/ Task Manager so no need to download any extra application which is kind of creative thinking as it saves space and processes of CPU because need of installing extra application eliminates. Whenever you feel your device is slow just hit the optimize button and it begins it’s magic.

unnamed (1)

  • Setting: This tab is simply as short setting panel we find in our device from here one can switch on/off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Auto-sync, Auto-rotation, GPS, Cellular Network, change Screen Timeout and even adjust Screen brightness but we find it pretty useless as one find these options in settings of device too.

Screenshot_2013-06-14-07-26-50

  • Uninstaller: Last Tab of the application acts as easy application manager so when you feel your device is running out of space or it is jaggy then you can uninstall the selected number of useless application in one go.

unnamed

Appearance and Layout:

We feel that overall appearance and layout of application is decent and serves it’s purpose. It has small five tabs at bottom and cool layout of particular screen running over it. background colour gives it a shiny look and text colour too doesn’t hurt the eyes. Also there is no complexity in navigating from one tab to another.

unnamed (2)

Value:

So here we come to the most important step value. So Is it worth to download? Since the application is offered for free and is of merely 5.86 MB also it serves it’s purpose fully we don’t see any reason to ignore it. It does saves the juice of your Droid as for example when I installed the application last night battery of device was at 76% and in the morning when I rechecked after 8 hours of sleep device was at 75% whereas earlier drop was used to be by 3-5% so it does save battery life thus saving your time and money. The thing we didn’t liked is the lots of Ads, we know it’s the way of earning by developers but they can offer a paid version too which is free of ads.

Keeping in mind it’s purpose, features offered and appearance we give it 4.5 stars. Download this application from Play Store from

So did you installed this application too and how many stars you give to this app? Do tell us in comments below.
