How To Disable Windows 8 Lock Screen [Quick Tip]

If you are running Windows 8, you must have seen the lock screen every now and then. If you feel irritated with this lock screen and you don’t need it on your system, let me show you how to quickly disable Windows 8 lock screen.

Requirements

All we need is a computer with Windows 8 or higher installed in it. If you want to upgrade to Windows 8.1 follow this guide.

How to Disable Lock Screen from Windows 8?

STEP #1

For this we need to make some changes in registry. For that go to “Run” which you can get by using “Windows + R” combination. Then in Run type “Regedit” and click on “OK”. Registry Editor will open.

STEP #2

Now go to Folder named “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” in that head over to “SOFTWARE” then go to “POLICIES” from that go to “MICRSOFT” after that “WINDOWS” and lastly to “PERSONALISATION”

STEP #3

Click on personalisation then on right side you will see following screen. Now in the space below you need to create a new DWord rename it as NoLockscreen so that it is easy to remember. Then click on that Lock screen twice and enter its value as 1 then click on OK.

In future if you ever want to reactivate that lock screen change the value to 0 and it’s done.

Mmm.. Don’t you think this process is little bit lengthy? then don’t worry you can do that in two clicks too. Just download this file, unzip it and install it. If you want to disable the lock screen then click on disable button otherwise on enable button then you will see following dialog box just click on “yes” simple as that.

Automatically Shutdown Computer When Torrent Download Completes

At this time we all do have computers and internet connections. We know are in generation of 4G LTE generation where internet speeds are insane but still it is available in some part of the world only. Most part of the world is still at lower speeds. As we know Microsoft released Windows 8.1 which you can update by following these simple steps. I also tried this but my internet speed is 1MBPS and if I download update then it will take continuous 3 days to download that 3.67GB so we all prefer to use Torrents.

Using torrent is simple and easy but we can’t just sit beside system and wait for the file to be downloaded so that we can turn the computer off. Wouldn’t it be great if your computer automatically shutdown when the torrent finishes the download? So today I am going to tell you all a simple guide so that you can shutdown your system automatically after torrent download completes.

Go to Torrents app
Download a torrent and set it for download

Now head over to Options, then Auto Shutdown option
Now we have various options to choose you can hibernate, reboot, shutdown and even put your system to standby after download completes. Select the one which is suitable for you. In this case I am selecting Shutdown option.
And its done.

Permanently Change Window Scrollback Size Of Putty [Quick Tip]

Putty is a free and open source terminal emulator and probably the best client for SSH in Windows. The one little irritating problem I face while using Putty is the number of lines in the window. The default windows size of Putty is 200 lines. Which means, you cannot see just 200 lines by scrolling back. And these 200 lines are not at all sufficient for programs that have huge logs.

More often than not, I need to see more than 200 lines back in the logs while working. For this purpose, I change the window scrollback size to 20,000 or 50,000. But if you do this, you have to do it every time you use Putty which is not very convenient. Would it not be great if you could permanently change the window scrollback size of Putty so that you won’t have to change it every time?

In this quick tip, I’ll show you how to permanently change the window scroll size of Putty.

I don’t need to tell you that you must have Putty installed beforehand. Follow the steps below to change Putty window size:

Open Putty. No need to log in to any session.
From the left sidebar, choose Window. In the right pane, see the option of Lines of scrollback. Change it to a value of your choice.
Now, the number of lines in Putty have been increased to 20,000. The next step is to make this change permanent. Choose Session from the left sidebar. Now, from the right pane, click on Default Settings and click on Save.

Clearly, you want to change YouTube email address. You can simply delete your secondary mail and use your primary one but the problem is that you can’t transfer your YouTube account. Or may be you can. In this quick tip, I am going to show you how to transfer YouTube account to another email address.

How to move YouTube account to another email address

Since the Google has updated his Google Plus integration it has become pretty easy to do that. I think earlier it was not even possible to do that. All you need is a YouTube account, email address to which you want to transfer the ownership of YouTube account and a Google Plus Page. We have attached a video guide below so that it it will be easy for you.

Requirement:

It is mandatory that your YouTube account should be linked with Google Plus page. If your YouTube account is not linked with Google Plus Page, then follow this tutorial on how to allow multiple users to a YouTube account.

Once you have the requirements, follow the steps below:

Now, to link another email address, go to the managers tab of the Google Plus page linked to the original YouTube account. Then click on Add Managers.

Type the email address which you want to connect.
Accept the invitation and then wait for 14 days.
After 14 days go to the Managers tab and click on transfer ownership and select the manager to which you want to link your YouTube account.

Delete the previous manager and now YouTube account will automatically be linked to new email address.

Open Play Store App of your Android device.

How to allow multiple users to upload videos to single YouTube account?

First thing you need to do is go to you YouTube account then click on Settings. In this case we have YouTube account of our friends at Ask Your “HOW”.

After that go to advanced option

Click on Link to Google Plus Page.

Select from Google Plus pages (we have four pages and we are going to select with whom you want to connect your account with.

After that go to that Google Plus Page and head over to Managers section then click on “Add Managers”.

Enter the email address of the person whom you want to allow upload the videos.

Now after accepting the invitation when person login in his/her account then he/she need to click on “switch accounts option”.

Now person can choose the account he/she wants to use. Here in this case there are two accounts one is and other one is “Ask Your HOW”

Thus in this way they can upload the videos to single YouTube account without even knowing your passwords. How To Remove Picasa Photos From Gallery In Android

I guess I am not the only one irritated with unnecessary syncing of Picasa web albums in Android Gallery. Heck! there were so many of unnecessary photos in my Samsung Galaxy S2 gallery. To get rid of the Picasa photos from the gallery, I un-synched Picasa from the settings but guess what, I could still see the Picasa web albums in the gallery. If you have come looking for how to delete Picasa album from Android, you are at the right place.

In this quick tutorial, I’ll show you how to remove Picasa photos from Android gallery.

Remove Picasa photos from Gallery in Android:

Removing Picasa web albums from the display in gallery is really easy. All you have to do is to follow the steps below:

Step 1: Remove Picasa from the synchronization

First most thing is to remove Picasa from the synchronization. Go to Settings and then scroll down to Accounts section. Select the Google account you use for synchronization. Click on it and there, clear the option of Sync Picasa Web Albums.

Step 2: Refresh gallery

Even when you have un-syched the Picasa web albums, you’ll still see Picasa photos in the gallery. This is because the gallery has not been refreshed and this is why it still shows Picasa photos in it. To refresh gallery, go to Settings->Application Manager->All tab. Scroll down to find Gallery application. Click on it to see more options about it. You’ll see an option of Clear Data here. Click on it to force refresh the gallery.

It will take some time if you have a large collection of albums or else it will only take few seconds to get it refreshed. And that’s it. An easy way to delete Picasa photos from gallery in Android. How To Move Mails To Primary Tab In New Gmail

Gmail has recently changed its inbox again. Now you’ll see three default tabs that categorize your emails. Problem is, it is automatic and at times you’ll find that you want some particular email to be displayed in Primary tab so that you can easily see it. In this quick tutorial I’ll show you how to move mails to Primary tab from other tabs in new Gmail.

Lets say you checked the Promotional tab. Now Promotional tab filters and keeps all the promotional emails in it. It saves your inbox to be flooded with promotional offers from , Flipkart and other shopping portals. What if you find a good deal here. You may want it in Primary tab so that you won’t forget to recheck it. But unlike labels (where you could move mails from one label to other), tabs do not behave the same way. You won’t really see an option of moving the mails to Primary Tab (or any other tab), well, not directly. Keep calm! I got the trick to do it.

Move mails to Primary Tab in new Gmail:

The trick here is to put a star to the desired mail which you want to be displayed in Primary tab. Usually, it is enabled by default but it’s better to ensure it.

This creates a new tab. You don’t have to create a new tab just verify that Include starred in Primary has been checked.

How To Get Bing API Key For SEOPressor

SEO to blog is what engine tuning is to a car. Out of several SEO plugins available for WordPress blogs, I use SEOPressor. SEOProcessor is an inexpensive and extremely powerful SEO plugin that lets you run LSI keyword search. Now one problem here is that when you try to run the LSI keyword search in SEOPressor, it gives the following error asking to get BING API Key:

In order to get the LSI you should go to Settings/Advanced/LSI Settings tab and specify a valid Bing API Key.

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to get Bing Search API key for SEOProcessor for free.

How to get Bing API key for SEOProcessor:

Steps to get Bing API key for search are very simple. I have divided the tutorial in steps for an easy to follow approach. Here you go:

Step 1:

First step is to create a Bing API key. Go to Windows Azure Marketplace and log in to it from the top right corner. You should have a Microsoft account such as Live, Outlook or Hotmail. You can also use the username and password that you use to login to Windows 8. When you login with it, it asks you to create a Windows Azure account. No hassle here. Just fill the form.

Step 2:

Once the Windows Azure account has been created, go back to Bing Search API page.Now Bing API Key has several plans and I would suggest to go with the free plan if you don’t want to spend money on it. With the free plan, you can do 5000 keywords per month. pretty much sufficient for couple of blogs.

Step 3:

Once you have signed up for the free plan, go to your account (you can see the My Account option in top navigation bar). In your account, go to Account Keys. You’ll see a Bing API Key here. But WAIT! Job is not done. Not just yet. As you can see, the API key is attached to Default. Edit it and link it to SEOProcessor. Check the screenshot for hint. Once you did this, copy this API key.

Step 4:

Now you’ve got the Bing Search API key. Now is the time to use it in SEOPressor. Go to SEOPressor settings > Advanced > LSI Settings and paste the API key here. Validate the key and then save the setting.

That’s it. You just learned how to get Bing API key for SEOPressor. And now you can utilize the SEOPressor’s features to its fullest. Enjoy
