8.1, which was initially codenamed Windows Blue, has been officially released today on 17th October. And in this post I’ll be talking about how to upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.
Windows 8.1 is released one year after the release of Windows 8 which saw dramatic changes in the looks of Windows OS. Windows 8.1 is a unique release in itself. It is like a service pack for those who are already using Windows 8 (and available for free) but is a full fledged operating system in its own.
One of the major (if you can call it one) change in Windows 8.1 is the reincarnation of its popular “start” button. People who are so used of this button that they were even clueless about how to shut down Windows 8. People whined and complained about this missing start button. We saw some applications to get start menu back in Windows 8 but those were still not satisfactory.
