How To Move Mails To Primary Tab In New Gmail

Gmail has recently changed its inbox again. Now you’ll see three default tabs that categorize your emails. Problem is, it is automatic and at times you’ll find that you want some particular email to be displayed in Primary tab so that you can easily see it. In this quick tutorial I’ll show you how to move mails to Primary tab from other tabs in new Gmail.

Lets say you checked the Promotional tab. Now Promotional tab filters and keeps all the promotional emails in it. It saves your inbox to be flooded with promotional offers from , Flipkart and other shopping portals. What if you find a good deal here. You may want it in Primary tab so that you won’t forget to recheck it. But unlike labels (where you could move mails from one label to other), tabs do not behave the same way. You won’t really see an option of moving the mails to Primary Tab (or any other tab), well, not directly. Keep calm! I got the trick to do it.

Move mails to Primary Tab in new Gmail:

The trick here is to put a star to the desired mail which you want to be displayed in Primary tab. Usually, it is enabled by default but it’s better to ensure it.

This creates a new tab. You don’t have to create a new tab just verify that Include starred in Primary has been checked.

Now when you star any mail in any tab, it will automatically be displayed in Primary tab. Easy peasy. Wasn’t it? Hope it helps you to in getting used to of the new Gmail inbox. Comments, suggestions are welcomed. Ciao

How To Auto save your Gmail Attachments to Google Drive

Ever wondered how to save your Gmail attachments to your Google Drive? Yes, but you don’t know the way out then how we have two solutions. First is that you can manually download each attachment then upload to your drive which is really time-consuming and cumbersome. Second method is pretty easy, actually it is automated and all credit goes to our India’s famous Blogger Amit Aggarwal who created a script himself which allows us to do the same. Script is written in a way that it saves all the attachments automatically even for the mails to arrive in future along with the ones present in your inbox already.

Things needed:

The one and only thing you need is the script and you can download that script from .

Instructions:

All you have to do is to go to the file option from the Menu bar and select “Make a copy” which will open the copy of the script in another window.

Again from the Menu bar choose “Run” this time and then select “Authorize” option. It will ask for various permissions which you need to grant.

Then again go to “Run” and select “Start Program” option this time. Script will start running in background.

Now you will see that script made a folder named “Google Images” in in your Google Drive. This folder will contain all the attachments.

Google Brings Hangout to Gmail

Google’s popular group video chat feature, hangout, has been ported to Gmail. Which means you don’t need to go to Google Plus every time you want to create a hangout. Now you can do it right from your inbox.

Hangout lest you video chat with 9 other users, you can also share a you tube video, text chat etc at the same time.

How to start a hangout in Gmail:

Go to your chat list. Look for the “video camera” icon. Click on it to start a hangout:

When you click on it, it will give you option of inviting people to hangout:

Prerequisite: You must have a Google Plus account. Without that hangouts are not possible. You won’t be shown the option of hangout if you are not Google Plus.

How to use multiple Gmail accounts at the same time

When you are using one Gmail account, generally, you have to log out to sign in to another Gmail account in the same browser. Most of us have multiple email accounts to separate work/personal stuff. Signing in and out again and again is really tiresome. We have talked about adding multiple Gmail accounts earlier as well but the earlier trick was too complex for beginners. After the recent revamp of Google accounts, adding multiple Gmail account is just a matter of few clicks.

Follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your gmail account. From the top right corner, open the settings and click on Add Account:

2. Clicking on Add Account takes you to a new sign in page to add the new account.Use the username and password of the other gmail account here:

Hackers having a field day now a days. If you check any hacking news site you will find out 3-4 hack news coming on a daily basis. If you think only small time, poorly managed, neglected websites and forums or compromised by hackers, time to change your thinking. The big hotshot brands as well as internet giants have been suffering at the hands of malicious hackers with users’ password stolen in a series of hacking events.

Who got hacked?

Sony had a real hard time dealing with hackers when its Play Station network was hacked several times along with its other sites in a series of hacking. in February this year. Popular professional social networking LinkedIn was hacked last month. And last week Yahoo’s database has been compromised putting approximately 400,000 users at risk. These were just a few examples as the list is too long to be listed here. A number of forums are hacked regularly leaving users’ information (personal, financial etc) at risk.
