How To Move Mails To Primary Tab In New Gmail

Gmail has recently changed its inbox again. Now you’ll see three default tabs that categorize your emails. Problem is, it is automatic and at times you’ll find that you want some particular email to be displayed in Primary tab so that you can easily see it. In this quick tutorial I’ll show you how to move mails to Primary tab from other tabs in new Gmail.

Lets say you checked the Promotional tab. Now Promotional tab filters and keeps all the promotional emails in it. It saves your inbox to be flooded with promotional offers from , Flipkart and other shopping portals. What if you find a good deal here. You may want it in Primary tab so that you won’t forget to recheck it. But unlike labels (where you could move mails from one label to other), tabs do not behave the same way. You won’t really see an option of moving the mails to Primary Tab (or any other tab), well, not directly. Keep calm! I got the trick to do it.

Move mails to Primary Tab in new Gmail:

The trick here is to put a star to the desired mail which you want to be displayed in Primary tab. Usually, it is enabled by default but it’s better to ensure it.

This creates a new tab. You don’t have to create a new tab just verify that Include starred in Primary has been checked.

How To Auto save your Gmail Attachments to Google Drive

Ever wondered how to save your Gmail attachments to your Google Drive? Yes, but you don’t know the way out then how we have two solutions. First is that you can manually download each attachment then upload to your drive which is really time-consuming and cumbersome. Second method is pretty easy, actually it is automated and all credit goes to our India’s famous Blogger Amit Aggarwal who created a script himself which allows us to do the same. Script is written in a way that it saves all the attachments automatically even for the mails to arrive in future along with the ones present in your inbox already.

Things needed:

The one and only thing you need is the script and you can download that script from .

Instructions:

All you have to do is to go to the file option from the Menu bar and select “Make a copy” which will open the copy of the script in another window.

Again from the Menu bar choose “Run” this time and then select “Authorize” option. It will ask for various permissions which you need to grant.

Then again go to “Run” and select “Start Program” option this time. Script will start running in background.

Now you will see that script made a folder named “Google Images” in in your Google Drive. This folder will contain all the attachments.

Recap: Things You Should Know From Google I/O 2013

So yesterday was Day One of Google I/O 2013 and most of you might have watched the entire keynote or even attended it. It was held at Moscone Centre in San Francisco. Android reached 900 million activations in 2013 which was 400 million in 2012. Google Play Store hits 48 billion app installs also revenue generated for developers is increasing at an incredible rate.

There are many other big announcements let’s check them in detail:

New APIs:

This time Google announced three new API’s these tools help developers to make great applications and even existing ones better. Basically API helps to determine location of the operator of device in various ways whether by using GPS, network or Wi-Fi so to make this even better they added new APIs named as: Fuse Location Provider, Geofencing and Activity Recognition feature. Fuse Location Provider helps to acquire location more swiftly and uses 1% less battery per hour. Second one is GeoFencing it allows developers define a virtual fencing around a particular area and find location of user easily. Third one is Activity Recognition Feature it helps to track physical activities, it senses whether one is walking, cycling, driving and will do it without even using GPS which saves a lot of battery juice.

New Android Studio for developers:

This year’s I/O is largely focused for developers taking this into care Google launched new Android Studio, an integrated development environment based on IntelliJ platform. It has great interface in which a developer can see how his/her application will look like after development and on even different screen sizes. Android comes with live code updates and even font changer tool too.

Google Play Games Service:

We all heard lot of rumors about Google releasing Play Games which is no more a rumor but it is officially live. This Game service is available on cross platform too means you can enjoy gaming with your friends those are on iOS and web. This service offers cloud save feature means syncing game saves, statistics, leader boards, achievements, matchmaking and even multiplayer across various devices. Multiplayer feature is managed by Google Plus means other person should have a G Plus profile.

Google Play Music All Access:

Basically Google Play Music All Access means ”radio without Rules” and it focuses on music discovery when user clicks on single track Google will recommend playlist and radio station based on your selection. This service is currently available in US but will soon come to UK and more. This service comes at price though i.e. $9.99/ month but if users in the States signup by the end of June they will receive for $7.99 only.

Stock Samsung Galaxy S4 is real:

Google launched Samsung Galaxy S4 with stock Android providing all updates thus giving it a Nexus like feel plus Google will sell the 16GB version of the device in Play Store which comes 4G LTE, unlocked bootloader and will be available for $649 from June 26^th in US only.

Google Plus New Layout:

Google Plus got a major overhaul new layout, new design, auto Hash tags, auto- awesome photos, new stream and new hangouts. It’s been two years that Google launched Google Plus since then it didn’t get any major update. Google Plus now has support for three columns with lot animations. This layout fits itself according to the size of display and chooses the best viewing mode. Hangouts got a separate application available on iOS, Android and Web from now only. One can see when new member joins and even see when one is typing and this hangout now saves history. Hangout now replaces you GTalk on your device.

There are many more things and new services which are launched at this Keynote and yet more to come in coming days. Some of the other new updates are: one tap Checkout Button means if you want to buy something in store then you need to simply tap the purchase button your payment and address will be automatically added from wallet information. Google Now got new cards and reminders some new services are announced which you will get to know when you will use it major added features are knowledge graphs and more. How To Get Rid Of Annoying Updates From Close Friends On Facebook

Annoying and unnecessary updates from your friend(s) are flooding your Facebook feed? Facebook is full of naive people who share almost everything irrespective of how stupid it is. You might have some friends who behave like idiots on Facebook by sharing ridiculously stupid things such as the photo of a hungry kid that says one like equals to one dollar or those “divine” photos where one has to like before 3 seconds. Some friends are so politically frustrated that they spend almost all day abusing the government or political parties with ridiculous logic. Of course the Facebook gamers (farmers, chefs, mafia kingpins, detectives etc) top the chart by asking a cow or garlic for their game progress. Imagine the horror if these kind of updates flood your smartphone if you use Facebook Home.

I too have some “share happy” friends who share almost everything within a timespan of 5-10 minutes. Even though the shared stuff is not one of the above mentioned idiotic stuff, it is frustrating to see the whole Facebook news feed to be filled by the updates from the same guy. While the best way to get rid of such annoying updates on Facebook is to hide the updates from them.

But wait a sec! Are they not your close friends? You do want to get some (important) updates from them to know what they are doing or if there is something really important news from their side. Hiding them would not serve the purpose as it goes against the principal of Facebook and that is to socially connect with friends.

So if you want to get rid of the annoying and unnecessary updates from your friend but do want to receive the important announcements from them, here is a little trick that could help you.

How to get only important updates from friends on Facebook:

Click on the option from the right side of the post and choose Hide.

Once you hide the story, it gives you an option of Change what updates you get from XYZ. Click on this option.

Here you can choose what kind of option you want to receive from your friend. Bets would be to choose Only important.

You can also opt for Most updates. This will also reduce the activity of your friend in your news feed. I hope it helps you in keeping your friend with you and your Facebook news feed cleaner.
